Reno-Tahoe International is the gateway, and the drive from it is a different trip depending on the day. Forty-five minutes to the North Shore when the roads are clear. Considerably longer when I-80 goes to chain control over Donner Summit, or when the Mount Rose grade is doing its best impression of a ski run.
We drive both routes all season. Our vehicles run all-wheel or four-wheel drive on genuine winter tires, and our chauffeurs have made these climbs at night with snow coming sideways. When conditions turn, we do not guess — we watch Caltrans, we track your flight, and we tell you the truth about timing rather than the answer you want to hear.
We serve Truckee, Tahoe City, Olympic Valley, Northstar, Homewood, Tahoma, Donner Summit, Kirkwood and South Lake Tahoe. Ski gear, boot bags, dogs and an unreasonable amount of luggage are all expected. In summer the same roads lead to Emerald Bay, the west shore beaches and dinner in Truckee — without anyone in your party having to be the designated driver.
